Master's Programmes

The main objective of this programme is to train managers who are able to solve business problems using information technology. Alumni of the programme work in areas related to decision-making for business performance management, organization of corporate systems, architecture of business processes, reorganization and business optimization. The programme has three separate educational tracks: informational business analytics, information systems management and business process modelling and optimization.


The Master’s programme “Marketing: Digital Technologies and Marketing Communications” introduces students to the latest conceptual approaches and best practices in marketing and communications management. Throughout the programme, students utilize the hands-on approach and applied knowledge gained to master the marketing technologies needed to facilitate companies’ business operations and promote brands in an ever-evolving digital world. The programme incorporates the latest developments in the industry: digitalization, globalization, the use of big data, social media and meta-skills, artificial intelligence.


The Master's programme in International Management aims to train professional managers capable of working in multinational firms in a highly competitive digital world. The curriculum includes three interrelated modules: global strategies and operations; digital transformation and new business models; corporate social responsibility and sustainable development. The programme is taught in English. Students have an opportunity to pursue a semester abroad at a leading international business school.


This programme trains specialists in sales management and end user services (retail, mobile retail, bank and insurance retail, FMCG sales). Students develop their cultural competence and their confidence in navigating the digital world, both of which are imperative to retail success in the experience economy. The programme involves collaborations with several leading companies, including Nielsen, X5 retail group, Ashan, Leroy Merlin, Lamoda and Yandex. Graduates are sought after by major international companies as specialists in marketing, operational management, logistics, finance and human resources.


This programme trains students in one of the most sought-after specializations in the fashion industry – fashion business management. The curriculum offers a balance between theoretical and applied knowledge and introduces students to modern management methods in the industry, marketing specifics and diverse case studies. Workshops run by leading industry experts are also part of the programme. Both in Russia and abroad, graduates are sought after by offline, online and omnichannel companies in various segments of the fashion industry, from mass-market to luxury.


The aim of the English-language programme is to train specialists who are able to assess the impact of big data technologies on large enterprises and to suggest effective applications of these technologies, to use large volumes of saved information to create profit, and to compensate for costs associated with information storage. The programme trains graduates who are able to introduce and evaluate the effectiveness of big data technologies and tools in enterprises; to manage data; to implement and apply tools used for analytics and decision-making around big data, to manage solutions; and to develop new models of information infrastructure, taking into account the capabilities of big data technologies.


The Master's programme in Strategic Management in the Fuel and Energy Sector is Russia’s only such programme that trains professionals with the skills and knowledge required for administration, system analysis, complex forecasting, and strategic decision-making in the public sector, at energy companies and in other energy-related fields.


The ‘Business Development Strategies: Management and Consulting’ Master’s Programme is the upgraded version of the ‘Strategic Management and Corporate Governance’ Programme, which had its first graduates in 2001. The programme trains highly qualified managers able to work effectively in corporate development, strategy and planning departments of both Russian and multinational corporations. Furthermore, our graduates also build successful careers in management consulting. The competitive advantages of the programme include its multidisciplinary approach to business issues and lectures delivered by management and consultancy professionals.


The Strategic Management in Logistics and Supply Chain Management in the Digital Economy programme is unique in Russia, the CIS and Baltic States. It aims to provide students with key skills and competencies in strategic innovative solutions in order to optimize resources and added value in digital supply chains. It also aims to impart the best international practices of leading Digital SCM/Logistics companies. Graduates of the programme acquire skills and competencies in developing digital logistics strategies, including innovative logistics technologies for business. They also develop an understanding of methods to manage the complexity and risks of the global supply chain. The programme introduces tools for optimizing global material, information and financial flows, as well as a methodology to manage organizational change and digital transformation of supply chains.


This programme trains specialists to manage investment projects of various scales and industry affiliation, make effective resource and organizational support decisions, integrate innovation and investment processes, and conduct comprehensive planning of a company's investment portfolio in order to achieve sustainable development. The programme has been developed at the request of Russia’s Ministry of Finance.


The hospitality and tourist industry is a rapidly and steadily growing sector of both the global and Russian economy. The main goal of the programme is to train managers and analysts who have integrated knowledge of modern economic and managerial concepts and approaches to hospitality and tourist industry management. Graduates of the programme will be in demand in commercial and non-profit sectors such as the hospitality and tourist industry, as well as in related industries. In particular, large hotels and hotel chains, tourism operators, state and municipal cultural management agencies, sports and tourism, cultural institutions, and non-profit organizations that are actively involved in cultural and event tourism on both a global and national scale will be of interest to graduates of the programme.


E-Business is a programme training experts in managing business with the use of the Internet. The programme includes disciplines necessary for business activities, both with the use of the and without the use of the Internet. At the same time, it involves a strong technological component. It covers the whole spectrum of IT, but focuses on telecommunication technologies, particularly the Internet. As part of the human-science branch of the programme, the specifics of individual behavior in the Internet are studied, as well as the issues of application of agent programmes endowed with social behaviour. In addition to that, the course involves a broad managerial component providing an interdisciplinary competency. Special attention is paid to research work. The educational programme includes research seminars as well as pedagogical and research practical training.


The HSE Master’s degree in HR Analytics is the first programme of its kind in Russia and is unrivalled throughout the world. It equips graduates with a set of key professional competencies, which enable them to successfully carry out HR-related analytical and managerial tasks in organizations engaged in the digital economy. Moreover, the programme is practice-oriented and is implemented in partnership with leading Russian firms. Key prospective employers of the programme’s graduates include leading Russian companies (analytical divisions of head offices, departments of strategic and organizational development, corporate universities involved in strategic development, and HR departments) in high-tech sectors that already show demand for HR specialists with the latest analytical and administrative skills.
